Biography

Patrick Wong (M. Photog., CR) has been shooting pictures since age 11. After graduating with a B.A. in Business, he worked as a hospital accountant for two years. He then quit CPA programming and studied photography at the City College of San Francisco. In 1974, he started his own studio and joined the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). While learning from two Master Photographers, the late Don Tong and the late Rocky Gunn, he attended Winona school, West Coast School, and Golden Gate School of photography.

Patrick has achieved a Master and Craftsman of Photography and for over 30 years, has performed custom processing (C41, RA-4, E6, and B&W) and artwork in his studio. During that time, he has been widely recognized for his inspired and visionary photography. His numerous awards from wedding competitions include:

  • International Wedding Photographer of the Year
  • First place in California, Wedding category
  • First place in the Western States, Twice
  • Kodak ASP Regional Medallion Award
  • Fuji Film Masterpiece award

His works are on Master Loan exhibit at Epcot Center, and have been featured in several publications including the cover of Professional Photography, the back cover of Hasselblad Wedding Book, a Fuji Film advertisement and Photo World - China. In addition, he has frequently spoken to professional photographers and led seminars on photography.
